Tourism Corporation Bonaire launches its 4th Tourism Book and signed Memorandum of Understanding with SKAL

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) organized an event at Museo SKAL to launch the 4th Tourism Book with the title ‘Turismo na Boneiru, mi Kultura, mi Enkanto!’.

It was a cheerful evening with the presence of CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire, Miles Mercera, Commissioner of Tourism Hennyson Thielman, Author and Publisher Denise de Jongh-Rekwest Director of SKAL Felix ‘Papito’ Thomas, and Miss Tourism Sunniva Manuel. This book is dedicated to the authentic experiences of Bonaire including its local heritage and culture, and so much more.

The fourth Tourism Book titled ‘Turismo na Boneiru, mi Kultura, mi Enkanto!’ is part of the community involvement plan of TCB. TCB’s focus is to include Tourism as part of our educational programs at our local schools.

TCB together with SKAL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), by signing this MoU both parties agree to work together on projects to promote Bonaire’s culture and heritage within the tourism sector. Parties will work together to primarily preserve the celebration of Bonaire’s cultural heritage and secondarily to safeguard and promote new forms of art and culture within the tourism sector, both locally and internationally.

During the evening, different elementary schools were officially presented that will be participating in the Folkloric Dance Competition. The schools that will be competing are Kolegio Amplio Papa Cornes, Kolegio Kristu Bon Wardador, and Kolegio San Luis Bertran. The competition will take place during the Taste of Bonaire event which will take place on Friday September 30th, 2022.
