Tourism Corporation Bonaire celebrates Tourism Month 2022

Tourism After 5 with partners and stakeholders

Every year we celebrate Tourism Day on September 27th. This year, Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) is planning different activities throughout the entire month of September 2022.

Starting Saturday, September 3rd 2022, all arriving visitors will be personally welcomed at the Flamingo International Airport with Bonaire’s island rhythm with local folkloric music. Additionally, visitors get to experience and take a picture with our locals dressed in traditional Folkloric outfits. As a token of appreciaton, all visitors will receive a welcome gift as part of our visitors retention program titled Bonaire Ambassadors.

On Friday, September 2nd, TCB hosted its monthly Tourism after 5 event. During the event TCB welcomed the Bonaire bikers club and partners, who will be having different activities on island in celebration of Bonaire Day. Also, Rolando Marin TCB’s Information Officer has been honored for his 29 years working for the company and for working in the tourism sector for 34 years. Recognition was also given to Mr. Robert Lloyd from the US for visiting Bonaire for 30 years. Throughout the years Mr. Lloyd has stayed at different acommodations on the island, and the last years he’s been staying at Buddy Dive Resort.

TCB in collaboration with the author Denise de Jong-Rekwest also created a Tourism book titled: ‘Turismo na Boneiru, Mi Kultura, Mi Enkanto!’ which will be officially launched on September 22nd. This tourism booklet will be provided to all schools on the island on September 23rd, as a tool to learn more about tourism and our local heritage and culture.

On September 26, TCB is organizing its second annual Bonaire Tourism Summit with the aim to bring our active tourism stakeholders and partners together to discuss our branding, air service, marketing and PR strategy moving forward. Once again TCB has invited keynote speakers and guest speakers, to discuss our 2023 strategy and share the latest tourism trends and developments.

The Tourism Month activities will end on Friday September 30th , TCB will be organizing its Taste of Bonaire event. The theme of the event is focused on Tourism & Culture. As part of involving our youth in our cultural activites, there will be a local school Dance competition with our traditional music.
