The first Bario Festival 2024 Nikiboko organized by TCB and the New Angels softball team was a success

July 11, 2024

The first Bario Festival 2024 Nikiboko organized by Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) and the New Angels softball team was successful. The event took place at Lalan Clarenda Park on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, in a tremendous ‘Vakantie Vibe’ atmosphere from 5 pm to 11 pm.

The program was packed with music and stands selling local food. The music group Farley Entertainment was present to liven up the night. To give the Bario Festival a more special touch, there were poetry presentations by the young people of Arte di Palabra, a multicultural dance show; ACE CLUB presented some cultural and historical dances, a Peruvian dance group, tributes, and DJ FE.

We honored four people from Nikiboko:

  1. Rubinetty Josephia, the first female firefighter, originally from the neighborhood of Nikiboko.
  2. Nadia Snack and the Feng family for their years of service to the Nikiboko neighborhood and all of Bonaire.
  3. The young Janiro Dorothea for his work and presentation with Arte di Palabra, for being a very active young person in cultural activities, and for supporting other young people in Nikiboko.
  4. Andy Ignacio for his dedication and contribution to the sport of baseball. He could not be present because he had another commitment with the U8 baseball team.

TCB and the New Angels softball team want to thank everyone who attended for spending a pleasant time with us at the first edition of the Bario Festival held in the neighborhood of Nikiboko.
