TCB and BIA Represent Bonaire at Routes Americas 2026

March 4, 2026

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB), in partnership with Bonaire International Airport (BIA), is currently representing Bonaire at Routes Americas 2026, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The air service development conference brings together more than 900 senior industry professionals, including airline executives, airport authorities, and destination representatives, to explore new air connectivity opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.

Routes Americas also serves as a key platform for destinations and aviation partners to exchange insights on industry trends, market developments, and the future outlook of the aviation sector, making it an important moment to assess how the global aviation industry is evolving in this dynamic environment.

During the event, the Bonaire delegation is holding a series of high-level meetings with key airline partners, including Avianca, WestJet, TUI, KLM, GOL, Delta Air Lines, Copa Airlines, Wingo, American Airlines, United Airlines, and others. These meetings focus on evaluating the performance of existing routes, strengthening relationships with current airline partners, and exploring opportunities for future air service development.

“Events such as Routes Americas are critical moments for Bonaire’s Tourism and airlift strategy,” said Elesiër Angel, CEO of TCB. “They allow us to sit down with airline partners to review the performance of existing routes, explore opportunities for expansion, and showcase Bonaire’s potential to airlines that are not yet connected to our island. Maintaining strong relationships with airlines and continuously presenting a compelling business case is essential for sustainable air service development.”

Angel added that connectivity remains essential not only for visitors but also for the local community, highlighting the importance of maintaining and expanding routes to key markets while exploring new opportunities, particularly within Latin America and South America, which remain strategic priorities for the island.

Supporting the delegation was Altura Aviation Consultancy, which assists Bonaire in strengthening its airline business case and market analysis to support discussions with airline partners.

Marco van de Kreeke, Director of BIA, added: “Routes Americas provides an important platform for airports to engage directly with airline partners, strengthen existing relationships, and explore opportunities to improve connectivity to and from Bonaire.”

Bonaire remains committed to strengthening its air connectivity through strategic partnerships with airlines and industry stakeholders, ensuring sustainable and reliable access to the island for both visitors and the local community.
