Statement for communication purposes | Visitor Entry Tax

July 8, 2024

Since July 1st, 2022, visitors to Bonaire have been required to pay a Visitor Entry Tax of $75 per person per visit. Please note that there has been a change regarding the length of validity for the Visitor Entry Tax. Details on this update are outlined below and are effective beginning July 1st, 2024.

All Visitor Entry Tax QR Codes are Valid for 30 Days from First Travel Date
The validity of the Entry Tax QR code has been extended and is now good for 30 days from the first date of travel when the code is scanned. You may visit other destinations within the first 30 days without needing to pay the tourist tax again upon re-entry to Bonaire, however, officials will request an identity document to verify that a QR code is in the visitor’s name.

Pay Online in Advance to Save Time
Visitors to the island are encouraged to pay the Visitor Entry Tax online via the official website prior to their visit at https://tourismtax.bonairegov.com/. The tax can be paid by credit card starting seven days before the trip to Bonaire. After payment, visitors will receive a QR code confirming receipt of payment via email that must be shown and scanned upon arrival at the airport. After showing supporting documents, visitors may proceed directly to customs. There is the option to pay at the airport by credit card, however, please note that cash payment is not accepted.
