Preliminary numbers: Bonaire welcomed 13,701 stayover visitors during August 2026

 Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has shared preliminary tourism data for August 2026, revealing that Bonaire received 13,701 stayover visitors. This represents a 5% decrease from August 2025, when 14,435 visitors arrived.

Visitors from the Netherlands formed the largest group, accounting for 44.6% of total arrivals, with 6,114 visitors. US visitors were the second-largest group, accounting for 27.3% of arrivals and 3,738 visitors.

A total of 1,591 (11.6%) visitors from Curaçao visited the island, followed by Germany with 309 (2.3%) visitors, Aruba with 268 (2%) visitors, Italy with 172 (1.3%) visitors, Belgium with 159 (1.2%) visitors, Colombia with 149 (1.1%) visitors, Canada with 126 (0.9%) visitors, Argentina with 123 (0.9%) visitors, and Brazil with 117 (0.9%) visitors.

US visitors mainly traveled with a partner, followed by traveling alone. Most came for vacation (50.6%), diving (36.2%), and visiting friends and family (2.5%). The majority stayed at a hotel (57.4%), a villa (13%), an apartment (6.5%), their own property (5.1%), or with a relative (3.6%). US visitors primarily came from Florida, Texas, New York, North Carolina, and California. The age distribution showed that travelers aged 55-64 accounted for 21.3%, while those aged 45-54 accounted for 19.4%.

Dutch visitors were mainly solo travelers, followed by families with children. Most visitors came for vacation (72.6%), visited friends and family (8%), and for business (5.7%). Most visitors stayed at a hotel (50.6%), followed by an apartment (14.4%), a villa (8.4%), a relative’s (8.3%), and their own property (4.3%). Most Dutch visitors came from South Holland, North Holland, Gelderland, North Brabant, and Utrecht, with the 45-54 age group (18.3%) and 18 – 24 (16.3%) being the largest segments.
