Nine visitors honored as Bonaire Ambassadors in March 2024

April 4, 2024

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) honored nine visitors as Bonaire Ambassadors in March 2024 in the bronze, gold, and platinum categories.

Frits and Tilly de Schrijver from the Netherlands were honored for the 14 years they have been visiting Bonaire. “Bonaire is attractive to us because of the wonderful climate and the friendly people who give you a warm welcome wherever you go,” said Tilly after receiving recognition for herself and her husband, who was not present at the ceremony. On this occasion, they were presented with a bronze pin.

Ronald and Jody Wyatt, who have been visiting Bonaire for 20 years, were recognized in the gold category. “Diving in the warm sea, driving around the island while celebrating our wedding date, and getting together with our friends who are also visitors to Bonaire and especially with our friend Joan Obispo. That makes Bonaire so special for us,” they assured us.

Bob and Sandy Taradoina were also honored for 24 years of visiting Bonaire. The couple is attracted to Bonaire because of its excellent diving spots and friendly people.

Marian and Gerard van Trossel have been visiting Bonaire for 28 years. Marian also received the recognition on behalf of her husband because he could not be present himself. Esseline de Palm, a good friend of the couple, nominated them for the recognition.

A platinum plaque was awarded to Mrs. Crusita Cicilia, who started living in the Netherlands at a young age but returns to her island every year. On this occasion, she was recognized for the 46 years she has been visiting Bonaire.

On her recognition day, Mrs. Cicilia also reached the wonderful age of 75. Crusita promotes Bonaire in the Netherlands, and she often gives travel advice to people she meets.

For TCB, Helen Mercera organized the recognition ceremonies and presented certificates and pins to all new ambassadors.
