Bonaire Big Game Fishing Tournament in Honor of Jonnie Boer
Bonaire Big Game Fishing, in collaboration with the Boer family, is organizing a special fishing tournament in memory of the late chef Jonnie Boer.
To many, Jonnie was more than a renowned chef. He was a true friend and a great source of inspiration. Jonnie had a deep love for nature and the sea. Whenever he was on Bonaire, he enjoyed being out on the water, boating and fishing.
The tournament will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, which would have been Jonnie’s birthday. With this event, we aim to raise funds in support of culinary education in the Caribbean, so that aspiring culinary students can continue to follow their dreams. Just like Jonnie always did.
