Bonaire welcomes Scenic Eclipse on Inaugural Call

On Tuesday, Bonaire proudly welcomed the Scenic Eclipse on its inaugural visit to the island, marking a special milestone within Bonaire’s cruise portfolio.

The vessel, carrying 179 passengers and 196 crew, under the command of Captain Erwan Le Rouzic, was warmly received by Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB), together with the Harbor Master and local agent Maduro, with a ceremonial welcome recognizing this first call.

The Scenic Eclipse, known as the world’s first Discovery Yacht, represents a new segment within the cruise industry, combining ultra-luxury with expedition-style travel. Designed to carry up to 228 guests in all-veranda suites with butler service, the yacht offers a highly personalized and immersive travel experience.

What sets the vessel apart is its capability to access more remote and less conventional destinations, supported by unique onboard features including two helicopters, a submarine, and expedition equipment such as Zodiacs, allowing guests to explore destinations more intimately and experientially.

This type of vessel aligns closely with Bonaire’s strategic direction of attracting high-value, low-impact visitors who seek meaningful and nature-based experiences.
