Bonaire welcomed 18,899 stayover visitors during the month of January 2025

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has shared preliminary tourism data for January 2025, revealing that Bonaire received 18,899 stayover visitors. This marks an increase of 11.8% compared to January 2024, when 16,905 visitors arrived.

Visitors from the Netherlands formed the largest group, accounting for 47.4% of total arrivals with 8,966 visitors. U.S. visitors were the second-largest group, making up 28.2% of arrivals with 5,330 visitors.

A total of 1,643 (8.7%) visitors from Curaçao visited the island, followed by Canada with 946 (5%) visitors, Germany with 251 visitors, Aruba with 191 visitors, Belgium with 183 visitors, and Colombia with 148 visitors.

Most US visitors traveled with a partner, followed by alone. Most came for vacation, which accounted for 53.6%, followed by diving at 32%, and other at 14.4%. A total of 48% stayed at a hotel, villas at 13.1%, apartments at 9.3%, own property at 5.4%, family/friends at 4.8%, and other at 19.4%. The majority of Dutch visitors traveled with a partner and then alone. 70.4% came for vacation, visit family/friends with 10.1%, and other at 19.5%. 45.9% stayed at a hotel, 17.3% stayed at an apartment, family/friends 10.6%, villa 5.3%, own property 4.6%, and 16.3% other.

U.S. visitors primarily came from New York, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, California, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. The age distribution revealed that mature travelers aged 55-64 represented 26.4% of the visitors, and those aged 65+ comprised 25.5%. Among Dutch visitors, most came from North Holland, South Holland, and North Brabant, with the age groups 55-64 (26.6%) and 45-54 (16.3%) as the largest segments.
