Bonaire welcomed 12,483 stayover visitors during the month of August 2024

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has released its preliminary figures for August 2024. Bonaire welcomed 12,483 stayover visitors during the month of August 2024.

This represents an increase of 11% compared to August 2023. In August 2023, the island welcomed 11,213 stayover visitors, compared to the pre-pandemic performance in August 2019, which saw 11,900 visitors.

Dutch visitors remained the largest group, accounting for 6,418 visitors (51.4% of the total), followed by Americans with 2,617 visitors (21.0%). Visitors from Curaçao accounted for 1,724 visitors (13.8%), with significant contributions also coming from Aruba, Germany, Belgium, Brazil and Colombia.

US visitors primarily came from Florida, Texas, New York, California, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and other major states. The age groups with the highest representation were 55-64 (23.6%) and 45-54 (21.9%) and, indicating a strong interest from mature travelers. Dutch visitors mainly hailed from North Holland, South Holland, and North Brabant, with the dominant age groups being 45-54 (20.3%) and 18-24 years old (16.3%).
