TCB and FORMA sign a collaboration agreement to strengthen tour guide training on Bonaire

May 12, 2026

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) and Fundashon Formashon Pa Mañan (FORMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in the training and development of qualified tour guides on Bonaire. The agreement was signed by Mrs. Soraida T. Mensche-Statius, Director of FORMA, and Mrs. Elesiër Angel, CEO of TCB.

Through this collaboration, TCB formally recognizes the “Bonaire in Depth and Guiding Skills” course organized by FORMA. The program has been offered for several years and provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to responsibly guide visitors and share Bonaire’s history, culture, and natural environment.

The course materials were originally developed by Mrs. Sue Felix, whose work continues to support the knowledge base for training tour guides on the island.

Qualified tour guides play an important role in delivering high-quality visitor experiences. By recognizing this course, TCB supports the continued development of knowledgeable professionals who can represent Bonaire and its unique heritage.

“Guides are an essential part of how visitors experience Bonaire. They carry our stories, our history, and our connection to nature. Through this collaboration with FORMA, we are strengthening the foundation of our tourism sector by investing in people who represent our island with knowledge, authenticity, and care,” said Elesiër Angel, CEO of TCB.

Through this partnership, TCB and FORMA reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening Bonaire’s tourism sector while ensuring visitors enjoy meaningful and memorable experiences on the island.
