December 2, 2024

Bonaire takes further steps in promotion on the Belgian and Dutch market

With the recent launch of Corendon flights to and from Bonaire, the island has seen a great opportunity to promote its unique charm and diversity further. This happened during the Corendon OpenDays, a three-day event in which the Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) enthusiastically participated, represented by Marjolein Oleana, Business Manager and Europe Liaison. Marjolein Oleana provided informative presentations, highlighting the unique aspects of Bonaire. Her presentations gave travel agents and consumers concrete ideas and inspiration to include the island in their travel plans.

A successful three-day event
The Corendon OpenDays, held in the Netherlands, attracted a diverse audience:
On day 1, about 100 Dutch travel agents were invited to learn about Bonaire.
Day 2, about 100 Belgian travel agents.
Day 3 was a B2C day, during which as many as 700 potential travelers were inspired to choose Bonaire as their next vacation destination.

Valuable insights from Belgium
Conversations with Belgian travel agents made it clear that Bonaire needs to increase its visibility in this market. The feedback highlighted the need for targeted promotional campaigns to create more brand awareness. At the same time, the TCB representative received valuable tips, and important contacts were made to help them realize these goals. The travel agents responded enthusiastically to the opportunities Bonaire offered.

Highlights of the OpenDays
The event had several special moments. Gunay Uslu, CEO of Corendon, gave a welcome speech on the first day. On this occasion, she symbolically received the unique Bonaire water bottle from Marjolein.

In addition, Corendon announced plans to open a local office on Bonaire, where travelers can book tickets and vacations directly.

During the evening, the participants enjoyed authentic cocktail flavors from Bonaire. Cadushy Distillery sponsored the event with its well-known Rom Rincon, and TCB expresses its gratitude to Cadushy Distillery for its contribution.

Thanks to Corendon
TCB expresses its gratitude to Corendon for the invitation and the organization of this event. Thanks to the sponsored flight ticket and accommodation, TCB brought Bonaire to the attention of both the Dutch and Belgian markets.
