Bonaire Welcomes Corendon Dutch Airlines’ First Flight To The Island

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) in partnership with The Public Entity of Bonaire, Bonaire International Airport (BIA) and Bonaire Hotel and Tourism Association (BONHATA) welcomed Corendon Dutch Airlines’ first flight to the island of Bonaire last Sunday, November 3rd, 2024. The Airbus A350 was welcomed by Bonaire Ambassadors followed by a celebration ceremony at the airport.
TCB warmly welcomed all arriving visitors in a cultural ambience with folkloric and ‘ka’i orgel’ music, and local Ambassadors dressed in traditional folkloric outfits. As a token of appreciation for flying to Bonaire on the first flight with Corendon Dutch Airlines, all visitors received a welcome gift.
At the invitation of Corendon Dutch Airlines, 80 Content Creators, Influencers, Media and special guests had a first-hand experience on the new flight route services to the island of Bonaire, and will be discovering the island’s natural beauty, culture, and unique offerings while here.
During the ceremony, Miles Mercera, CEO at TCB expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership and flight services of Corendon Dutch Airlines to the island. “This marks a significant milestone for Bonaire’s airlift connectivity with Europe,” said Miles Mercera. “The Netherlands and neighboring countries remain a key market for the island. Visitors to the island of Bonaire and islanders wishing to travel to The Netherlands or another country in Europe, now have more options and accessibilities to travel and explore.” Commissioner Clark Abraham, Maarten van der Scheer, CEO at BIA and Gunay Uslu, CEO at Corendon also expressed their enthusiasm and are looking forward to continuing strengthening the partnership and cooperation between Corendon Dutch Airlines and Bonaire.
Corendon Dutch Airlines operates twice weekly flights departing Wednesdays and Sundays from Amsterdam with a stop in Curaçao to Bonaire, and from Bonaire direct to Amsterdam.
