10% increase of the pre-pandemic Tourism Arrivals of November 2022 compared to November 2019

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) reports a total of 14689 stayover guests for the month of November 2022, whichPerformance graph is an increase of almost 10% from the 13400 stayover visitors from November 2019, prior to the pandemic. The European market outperformed all other registered market numbers of visitor arrivals. Bonaire reports a strong result from its top two key markets. A total of 3337 (23%) Americans and 7539 (51%) Dutch visitors came to Bonaire. A total of 1585 people arrived in Bonaire from the neighboring island of Curacao which is 11% of all arrivals.

Germany, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom are among secondary markets that have kept their market share when compared to the previous month of October 2022.

Daily tourism performance monitoring by TCB is conducted, and also compares its KPIs to pre-pandemic levels among the regions performance. The year 2019 was one of Bonaire’s best performing ones, and TCB is presently using it as the standard to gauge the island’s tourism recovery.
